Club Comps Club
Comps are progressing but as usual at this time of the year people are struggling to play matches because they are involved in so many club commitments and due to the unavailability of the green because of Club commitments and Bowls Scotland activities. Doug and I have been chasing people and we will continue to do so.
Bowls Scotland
Unfortunately all 4 of the entries in the Over 55s singles have been eliminated as has Harlaw B in the Over 55s 4’s. Harlaw A (Bill Smith, Mike Cruickshank, Garry Horne & Bruce Stewart however have beaten Cruden Bay and Belhelvie and now play a strong Westhill team in the Quarter Finals.
Singles
Fergus Muat has won 2 games against Cruden Bay and Balgownie and is through to play Conner Milne from Tarves in the Quarter Finals. Unfortunately Lee Simpson lost in the first round losing to Methlick Pairs.
Pairs
Unfortunately Alan Binnie & Doug Fraser were beaten in a closely contest match with Rothienorman Triples .
Triples
Our triples team of Liam Beattie, Bruce Stewart and Alan Rough are through to the quarter finals after a win against a strong Pitmedden side. They now play an equally strong Westhill team.
Fours
Our 4’s team of Bill Smith, Gordon Harper, Martin McKay and Sandy McDonald are through to the quarter finals after a win against Oldmeldrum where they now play Inverurie.
Mixed Pairs
Fergus Muat and Lucy Willox remain in the mixed Pairs after beating Balgownie and have their second round match on Monday (sorry cant remember who against) while Bruce Stewart and Viv Humble start their campaign with a game against Kintore on Monday.
A&K Top 10
Harlaw had a 6-2 win over Stonehaven and now have a home game against Rothienorman on Tuesday 17 June.
A&K Triples
Harlaw continues to have mixed results in the triples and only now has 1 game to go against Inverurie.
A&K Top 5
Harlaw has its first game in this competition with an away game at Laurencekirk on Monday 23 June.
Mixed Triples League
Both teams remain unbeaten in their respective leagues. Well done.
Crowmallie
Harlaw had a comfortable win over Rothienoman on Tuesday and now play Pitmedden on Tuesday 24 June
Forbes Hendry
Harlaw starts its campaign in this competition on Tuesday 3 June with a game against Insch.
Benachie Association Knock Outs
Fergus Muat and Lucy Willox had a comfortable win over Newmachar in the Mixed Pairs last week and at the time of writing this report are currently playing Pitmedden in a Quarter final game.
The other Knock outs all start in early July.
Benachie League
Harlaw A have recorded 3 wins and 1 loss while unfortunately Harlaw B have done the opposite with 1 win and 3 losses. There are 3 games to go for both teams.
A special thanks must go to Morag, Linda and Aileen for the teas provided after the games. They are very much appreciated and the opposition teams always comment on what is provided. Thanks
Invitation Pairs (15 June)
Invites have gone out and draw has been completed and sent out to participants. The event starts at 9.30am and all supporters are welcomed on the day to enjoy the bowls and the BBQ at 3pm.
